PRO VS. GI JOE is the marquee program of Joint Forces Initiative. In 2007 our Co-Founder, Addie Zinone, was deployed to Iraq 2 months after she married her husband Greg. In an effort to stay connected and support the troops, Greg leveraged the power of video games. He set out to pit professional athletes in video game contests against deployed U.S. Military. Pro vs GI Joe
Audiences at major league sporting events stand with us to support our troops. Via live teleconference with deployed military teams, thousands of sporting fans pay tribute to the men and women serving our country.
Joint Forces Initiative’s Purpose Driven Rehab provided scholarships to wounded veterans to assist in various Pro vs GI Joe and tailgating events at sporting events nationwide. The wounded veterans would drive the Purpose Driven Rehab RV from stadium to stadium to set up events to benefit and support other veterans and their families. This responsibility gave the PDR vets purpose and connected them with other veterans going through similar circumstances.
Rehabbing with the Troops is a program allowed professional athletes to workout alongside wounded warriors through customized workouts geared towards improving the veterans’ rehabilitation and recovery.
